Title: Fangs
Author: Sarah Anderson
Dates Read: Jan. 6
Format: Physical Book
Rating: ★★★★1/2
Description: Elsie the vampire is three hundred years old, but in all that time, she has never met her match. This all changes one night in a bar when she meets Jimmy, a charming werewolf with a wry sense of humor and a fondness for running wild during the full moon. Together they enjoy horror films and scary novels, shady strolls, fine dining, and a genuine fondness for each other’s unusual habits, macabre lifestyles, and monstrous appetites.
Review: I adored this graphic novel. The only problem - it was too short! I would absolutely read a full length novel about the relationship between Elsie and Jimmy. Or even watch a TV show. They are just so cute and sweet. This book also reads as a testament to love between two people who should be mortal enemies but found each other. Beyond that, there isn't much conflict. Even so, this was adorable and I read it in one sitting.
Final Note: Sarah Anderson is also the author of Sarah's Scribbles which is just as cute and funny. But with Fangs I think her drawing style and voice is more mature and grounded.
