Title: Maids
Author: Katie Skelly
Dates Read: Feb. 3 - Feb. 3
Format: Physical Book
Rating: ★★★
Description: Christine Papin, an overworked live-in maid, is reunited with her younger sister, Lea, who has also been hired by the wealthy Lancelin family. They make the estate's beds, scrub the floors, and spy on the domestic strife that routinely occurs within its walls. What starts as petty theft by the maids — who are flashing back to their tumultuous time in a convent — shortly turns into something more nefarious.
Review: This graphic novel was okay... I didn't love the art style and I think the story overall lacked some depth and excitement. Nothing much happened until the last three pages and even then it was anticlimactic.
Final Note: I didn't realize until I finished this book that it was based on true events in 1930s France! So that was cool.
