Title: The Honey-Don't List
Author: Christina Lauren
Dates Read: Feb. 19
Format: Audiobook
Rating: ★★★
Description: Carey Douglas has worked for home remodeling and design gurus Melissa and Rusty Tripp for nearly a decade. A country girl at heart, Carey started in their first store at sixteen, and—more than anyone would suspect—has helped them build an empire. With a new show and a book about to launch, the Tripps are on the verge of superstardom. There’s only one problem: America’s favorite couple can’t stand each other.
Review: This is a hard book to rate because even though I loved listening to this story and I think Carey and James' relationship is perfect, the plot was really lacking for me. The Tripps sound exactly like Chip and Joanna Gaines and the conflicts in this book felt so forced and manufactured. Like the authors knew where they wanted to story to go and just threw together events to get them there - which I really don't like. But like I said Carey and James were perfect. I loved how supportive and understand James was and they really did fit together well. It was obvious they were going to end up together from the start so the little twist that was thrown at them felt stupid. Overall, I would recommend if you want a light and quick romantic read.
